Being confronted with a plate of food can be rather intimidating for babies and toddlers that like it their own way. Try creating a platter of some safe and some more challenging foods and let them help themselves.
We’ve got grated cheese, humus, herby cream cheese, toasted seeds, peppers, carrots (cut them very, very thin or grate them for little ones), cucumber (with the skin off for younger babies), warmed pitta bread and toasted wraps plus babaganoush. A delicious selection of things to pick and choose from.
The principle works really well for almost any meal, as long as you provide lots of choice you’ll be surprised how much they pick up and put on their plate, and then how much they might try. Good luck.
